Grand Theft Auto V is sold through five official storefronts. Below is a platform comparison, download size, a step-by-step install walkthrough, and fixes for the errors players run into most often.
A fast direct download of the GTA 5 archive straight from our server — no signup, no waiting, and no dependency on third-party stores.
This file contains the full PC version of the game, ready to install. After downloading, extract the archive, run the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions. You'll still need a Rockstar Games Social Club account for the game to run correctly.
Good to know
Every storefront gives you the same game — the full story campaign plus GTA Online access. What differs is the service, the price, and how often it goes on sale.

Check your free space first
Pirated builds are a bad idea
Run the Rockstar Games Launcher as administrator, disable third-party overlays (Discord, MSI Afterburner), and make sure your antivirus isn't blocking its files.
Delete the settings.xml file in "Documents/Rockstar Games/GTA V" — it will regenerate with safe default graphics settings.
Run a file integrity check in Steam or Epic. If the error keeps happening, temporarily disable your antivirus during the check — it often flags large archives.
Make sure your firewall isn't blocking launcher ports, disable any VPN, and try joining an invite-only session from the pause menu.
Once the install is done, check out the rest of the portal.
A full GTA 5 install on PC takes up roughly 95–105 GB, but the launcher needs extra room for temporary files during extraction — budget 120–130 GB of free space. Console installs are slightly smaller, around 90–95 GB including online mode updates.
On first launch the game compiles shaders for your GPU — this takes a few minutes and only happens once. Update your drivers beforehand: an outdated driver remains the most common cause of a crash on the loading screen.
Pirated builds never get patched, can't access online play, and often carry malware. Official stores run frequent sales where the game costs less than a cup of coffee — by far the easiest way to get a working copy with full GTA Online access.
On consoles the game downloads through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the story campaign and GTA Online download as separate packages — if you only want online play, you can skip the single-player install and save around 40 GB. For background downloads, put the console into rest mode with "stay connected to the network" enabled.
Pause and resume the download — the launcher will pick up where it left off. If the error keeps recurring, clear the store's cache, temporarily disable any VPN, and run chkdsk on your drive: bad sectors often show up as a "corrupted download file." When installing from an archive, always confirm extraction finished cleanly — an incomplete archive causes a crash during file verification.
