The mural that started it all
At the summit of Mount Chiliad there's a painted mural: a UFO, a jetpack, an egg, and text describing certain conditions. Players have spent years hunting for a hidden code in it, and some of the clues genuinely do lead somewhere.
The three UFOs
After reaching 100% completion, three objects appear in the game world: above Mount Chiliad during rain at 3:00 AM, above Fort Zancudo, and underwater near Sandy Shores. These aren't an illusion or a mod — they're genuinely built into the game world.
Mysteries without aliens
Beyond the UFOs, the game features the ghost of Jolene Cranley-Evans on Mount Gordo, Bigfoot tracks in the forest, the Epsilon cult with its own storyline, and dozens of smaller nods to films and urban legends.
- The ghost only appears between 11:00 PM and midnight.
- Bigfoot becomes accessible after the 'Hunting the Hunter' strangers mission chain.
- The Epsilon cult unlocks a unique ending and clothing items.
